P.E.I. juniors drop pair at ringette nationals

P.E.I. fell 8-5 to Saskatchewan in an early game in the junior division (ages 14-15), with Kaitlyn Gallaway scoring four times for the host squad. 
Taylor McGregor added the other goal.
In its second game of the day, P.E.I. fell 11-4 to Manitoba.
Gallaway, with two goals, Danika Melanson and Sue Ellen McInnis tallied for the Island team, which was outshot 59-31.
Today at MacLauchlan Arena, P.E.I. plays Quebec at 12 p.m. and Nova Scotia at 4:30 p.m.
The tournament continues through Saturday, with games also being played at the APM Centre in Cornwall.
In other junior division action on Tuesday, Ontario downed British Columbia 10-4 and squeaked out a 3-1 win over Quebec to improve to 4-0. 
Kali MacAdam picked up four goals and two assists on the day, while Ontario teammate  Josie Scott added another four goals to her 15-point tournament total so far. 
Alberta edged Manitoba   6-5 and breezed by New Brunswick 8-1 to also improve to 3-0.
Danielle Pronovost picked up two goals for Alberta  against Manitoba and two goals and a pair of assists against New Brunswick.
In the belle division (ages 16-18), Ontario came away with a 4-3 win over B.C., but was dealt a 6-5 overtime loss by Quebec to fall to 3-0-1.
Sophie Vaillancourt popped in the overtime winner for Quebec (3-0).
Alberta (3-0) picked up two wins, downing New Brunswick 7-2 and Manitoba 9-6. 
Deja Leonard claimed four goals and an assist on the day for Alberta.
In the National Ringette League division (19 and over), the Atlantic Attack dropped both of its opening games.
The Attack fell 14-1 to the Cambridge (Ont.) Turbos and 6-2 to the Ottawa Ice. 
Islanders Kayla Hume, Lyne McKay and Kendra O’Brien are members of the Attack.
Today, the Attack plays the Waterloo Wildfire at 9:20 a.m. in Pownal and then faces the Calgary RATH at 4 p.m. at MacLauchlan Arena. 
In other action, league powerhouses Montreal, Cambridge, Edmonton and Calgary all went undefeated. 
Kailee Dundas, assisted by Sarah Beaton, scored in overtime to give Calgary a 5-4 win over Ottawa.
Calgary’s other win of the day was also a tight one, a 6-5 decision over Waterloo.
